16 members of the Jemicy Climbing Team traveled to the Nelson Rocks Preserve, deep in wintry West Virginia.
Jemicy’s Chemistry students combined two chemical reactants to produce steaming “elephant toothpaste,” so named because the reaction produces a huge amount of steaming foam that looks like toothpaste an elephant might use. This experiment demonstrated an exothermic reaction!
