Jemicy in the Media

Jemicy students featured in Education Week and multiple television interviews for Dyslexia Awareness Month.

Our students and teachers accomplish great things together every week at Jemicy, but this past week was extra special because our students had the opportunity to shine for a wider audience than usual.

The reporter from Education Week, a digital publication delivering news, analysis, and opinion about K-12 education in Maryland, inquired about interviewing a few of our Upper School students as part of a piece on learning differences. After meeting with Anthony, Logan, Max, Claire, and Connor, the reporter was so impressed, that she asked if she could do a separate piece just on them! “Is Dyslexia a ‘Superpower’? What Students Want their Teachers to Know”  ran on October 7. Our students shared insightful responses and advice for all with learning differences. Thank you, Elizabeth Heubeck, for recognizing the greatness in our students. We are so proud of them!
