Skills

All Upper School students participate in small group instruction classes designed to provide intensive focus in a specific area such as reading, writing, mathematics, oral communication, or organization and study strategies.

Jemicy Skills classes do not focus on isolated skills but support the core academic disciplines. Classes are both skill and strategy based, and courses provide the scaffolding needed to support current content area classes and prepare students for future studies.

Three (3) Skills credits are required for graduation. Skills classes provide small group instruction and coaching; classes are tailored to meet the individual needs of each student.
