Produced for and by students, WJEM showcases student talent, creativity, and passion.
📢 Subscribe to WJEM Blog: https://wjem.edublogs.org/ News, podcasts, and entertainment—the Upper School’s WJEM Network has it all! What makes it so exciting? It’s entirely produced by and designed for students! Whether hosting, filming, interviewing, or promoting, these students showcase what a team of Jemicy creatives can accomplish when they collaborate.
WJEM is the brainchild of current senior Anthony Warren ’25, who serves as president & executive producer. He heads a talented team of student leaders: Mani Jackson '28 (entertainment head), Madisyn Flowers '27 (podcast head), and Joel Morgan '27 (production head). Together, they manage nearly 20 student contributors who have worked on over 80 projects—an impressive feat accomplished entirely during lunches and study halls.
With the support of Upper School Director of Educational Technology Fred Sisk, WJEM launched two years ago and has grown into a dynamic, multifaceted production with an expanding subscriber base. WJEM posts new content nearly every day. The network features three major components:
WJEM News covers student government elections and key events impacting the student body.
WJEM Podcasts—including Senior Talk, Conversation with Teachers, A Day in the Life, and Jemicy Voices—help build community by sharing personal stories and insights, making it possible to learn more about one another in our diverse Jemicy community.
WJEM Entertainment offers engaging content such as Who, What, Where?, which poses open-ended questions for blog responses, plus games, riddles, and the ever-popular Café Wade, where senior Wade Caltrider’s quirky humor shines in short, crowd-favorite videos.
WJEM is a shining example of how Jemicy students transform their passions into reality. What began as a small club has evolved into a thriving network, and next year, it may partner with a proposed multimedia journalism elective—offering even more opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience.
