INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS

3 levels ( Star, C, and Y Groups) compromise grades 6-8 allowing for maximum flexibility to individualize programming and scheduling.
Multisensory and experiential approaches to learning are the norm, essential for dyslexic learners as well as those with executive function deficits.
3 language classes every day. Literature, Composition, and Language Skills provide the essential skills, but what sets Jemicy apart is the intentional and consistent infusion of language into every class and activity!
Rigor is designed to challenge, not to overwhelm. Homework is an extension of the day, not extra busy work. It is assigned at an independent level and is not new material that parents need to teach or “reteach” in the evening.
Robust performing and visual arts programs provide outlets for the unique creativity that often accompanies language-based learning differences. Our performances are legendary!

Highly trained experts in their fields, our faculty are at the forefront of research in the science of reading and are trained in Jemicy’s own copyrighted writing program, Paragraphology®.
Strong, caring, relationships are developed through intentional community building creating the foundation on which all learning is built and allow students to feel safe enough to take risks. Our teachers are skilled at creating these connections in and out of the classroom.

Development of self-advocacy skills continues through a solid understanding of their learning style which allows for a smooth transition to Upper School.
Increasing independence is the goal as students progress through the MIddle School groups with scaffolding academically, socially, and emotionally along the way.
